If it doesn’t work, there are two options you could try:

Option 1:

You could try to either capitalize the ‘i’ for your username or writing the ‘i’ in lower case.

Option 2:

NOTE: you need internet for this option! Try asking a friend to use their device with a WIFI connection.

It might be that your account is locked. Check if your account is locked à Go to ‘www.mail.maastrichtuniversity.nl’ and log in with your studentID and your password. If you are able to log in into your mail, your account is not locked.

If you are still not able to connect to the WIFI on your own device go to the ICTS helpdesk as explained in step 11. This means that the problem is on your own device.

In case you cannot login into your mail your account may be locked à go to step 1.

Unlock your account:

 

  1. Go to ‘www.maastrichtuniversity.nl’ to unlock your account.
  2. Type in the search bar at the right upper corner of the screen ‘password’ and press enter.
  3. Click on ‘Forgotten your password’.
  4. Click on ‘My Account self service’.
  5. Click on ‘Forgot Password’.
  6. Follow the steps to request the password change. NOTE: you should be able to access the alternative e-mail address which is shown.
  7. Log in to the e-mail account of the alternative e-mail address and open the e-mail you have received which is titled ‘My Account – Forgotten Password Request’.
  8. Click on the password change request link and follow all steps to change your password. NOTE: keep in mind the password policies when changing your password.
  9. Try logging in on the device you are currently using to check if your account is unlocked. You could do this by, for example, trying to log in to your Maastricht University e-mail. Go to ‘www.mail.maastrichtuniversity.nl’ and log in with your student ID (e.g. i1234567) and your new password.
  10. If you get access to your e-mail, your account is unlocked and you should be able to connect to the WIFI on your own device by following the above steps.

    If you don’t get access or if it still does not work:
  11. Go to the ICTS helpdesk at the university library in the city.
    Address: Grote Looiersstraat 17.
  12. When you enter the library, the ICTS helpdesk is on the right side.
