Housing corporations: Maasvallei Woonpunt Servatius

The range of accommodations offered by these leading housing corporations is refreshed each week on the Maastrichthousing.com website, from Wednesday 9.00 to Monday 11.00. The website also posts available rental accommodations by private proprietors.

These unfurnished accommodations consisting of rooms, studios and sometimes apartments are all located in the Maastricht area. All rental prices, contracts and facilities meet the necessary legal requirements and are subject to a standard one month notice period. Most accommodations do not require a down payment and the rental contract is processed and finalised by the corporations themselves. As the property range is somewhat limited, we employ the registration procedure outlined below.

How do I rent an accommodation from a housing corporation?

 Via registration (standard)

Unlike the accommodations offered by non-corporate agencies, we require you to register. The longer you are registered with Maastrichthousing, the higher your chances of finding accommodation! You can apply for one accommodation per housing corporation, per week. If you apply for multiple accommodations, only the final application will count. This means that each successive entry will overwrite the previous one. The application period will expire every Monday at 11.00!  

• Placement on the online application list 

The winning candidate will be announced when the application period has expired. The list is arranged by date of application.

Note: If you are still on last weeks application list and you decide to apply for a new accommodation (this sometimes happens when negotiations last longer than one week) your application for the first accommodation will be cancelled!

If you are at the top of the list at 11.00 on Monday morning you will receive an email between 11.00 and 11.30 with the contact information for the current tenant or, if the accommodation is available immediately, the phone number/address of the relevant housing corporation. You will then be able to pick up the key or make an appointment with one of the housing managers. Be sure to make an appointment immediately!

If you are not able to view the room/studio within 24 hours, please go to the MyHousing portal, choose My housing subscriptions and request a delay for 1, 2 or 3 days (if you need more delay, please contact Maastrichthousing).

• Approval

If you accept the housing offer within the time limit (go to the MyHousing portal, choose My housing subscriptions) the housing corporation will confirm you as the new tenant and invite you to their office.

The housing corporation will then take over the rental process. Your registration with Maastrichthousing will remain active, having indicated your interest in selecting this particular accommodation, you will be unable to apply for accommodations listed on other housing corporations for a period of six months.

To ensure speedy and accurate processing, it is important that you keep your contact information properly updated on the Maastrichthousing website!

Tip: The number of available accommodations is generally higher between October and April than between May and September.

• Refusal

You are not obligated to accept an offer and are free to refuse an accommodation after viewing it. Be sure to do so within the 24 hour assessment period and please indicate your underlying reasons. This can be done on the Maastrichthousing website (MyHousing).
